Is it important to replace the Dry-Brik every two months?
Yes!
The Dry-Brik performs two important functions:
1. To drive the relative humidity inside the unit to a much lower level than is possible with heat alone; and
2. To permanently trap and hold the additional moisture released from hearing instruments. It was designed to be active for 60 days, even in very humid environments, as long as the drawer or lid remains closed.
It’s important to change the Dry-Brik every two months in order to ensure that it has enough adsorptive capacity to capture the moisture released from your hearing instruments. Without a proper desiccant in place, the released moisture can just settle back on and in those instruments at the end of the 8 hour cycle.
